Will you be joining us for brunch the next morning?

The morning after the wedding, (on Sunday, August 23rd) we're heading to CC's on the Rideau for a boat ride and brunch bites. You may choose between boating to the restaurant from the cottage or driving there yourself. Boats leave the cottage dock at 11 AM. If you would like to drive, please meet us at the restaurant at 11:30 AM. Bring a swimsuit!

Garden Formal Attire

Our celebration will take place outdoors at the cottage, with the day unfolding across the lawn, dock, and lakeside paths. Please dress in garden formal attire: elegant, romantic, and suited to a summer evening by the lake.

Ladies

Midi and floor-length dresses are encouraged. Florals, soft seasonal colours, airy fabrics, and garden-inspired details will feel right at home.

For shoes, please keep the setting in mind. Block heels, wedges, or flats are strongly recommended for grass, docks, and cottage paths.

Gentlemen

A jacket with dress pants, a button-down shirt, and polished shoes is requested. Lightweight fabrics such as linen are welcome for the lake setting, but the look should still feel formal and wedding-ready.

A Little Note

No need to buy anything new! We simply ask that guests avoid white, ivory, cream, or anything that feels bridal. Our bridesmaids will be wearing green.

FAQ

Where exactly is the cottage?
Cedar Point Cottage sits at 3728 R37, Elgin, Ontario right at the tip of the point on Big Rideau Lake. Follow R37 all the way to the end and you'll find us. The map link will take you straight there.
Where should I park?
On the day, we will have signage and a wedding coordinator indicating where you should park. The parking area will be less than a two minute walk to the cottage. We will ensure it is clearly indicated; you won't miss it!
What should I wear?
Garden formal attire: elegant, romantic, and suited to a summer evening by the lake. The whole celebration is outdoors on grass, docks, and cottage paths, so block heels, wedges, or flats are strongly recommended.
When do I need to RSVP?
The RSVP deadline is July 15th. If you have not RSVP'd by then we will send you a note to follow up. If we have not heard back from you by July 21st, we will unfortunately have to mark you as not attending due to our catering team needing final numbers on that date.

Where should I stay?
The cottage is a short drive from Perth, Smiths Falls, and Westport, which all have lovely inns and rentals and cottage rentals around Big Rideau Lake book up fast in August, so we recommend reserving early. Reach out if you'd like suggestions!
Can I bring a plus one?
We'd love to celebrate with everyone, but space at the point is limited so we can only accommodate the guests named on your invitation. Thank you for understanding!
Are my children invited?
As much as we love your little ones, this is an adult-only wedding. Make it a date night!
Will there be swimming?
There are currently no plans to swim but it is a cottage wedding so we can't guarantee there will be no swimming at all. We make no promises about who ends up in the lake or the pool by the end of the night. For the next day, definitely bring a swimsuit!
